Dentures can restore confidence in your smile and your ability to bite, chew, and speak more comfortably. Custom dentures may be an ideal tooth replacement solution if you have lost several or all of your teeth and still have adequate jawbone support. You may also be a candidate for dentures if you have multiple teeth that are beyond repair and must be extracted. During your consultation with Dr. Adi or a member of the Atlas Walk team, we can discuss your treatment needs and determine if traditional removable full arch or partial dentures are ideal for your needs or whether implant supported dentures are a treatment option.
What To Expect
Full and partial dentures can be crafted of lightweight material, acrylic or resin-fused-to metal framework. Partial dentures are shaded to match your teeth for a seamless appearance and attach to surrounding teeth through metal or plastic clasps. If you require full dentures, you may need to use adhesive to keep them comfortably in place. Implant supported dentures affix firmly to a series of dental implants placed within your jaw.
If you need tooth extractions, Dr. Adi or the Atlas Walk staff will perform these procedures before starting your dentures. Impressions of your upper and lower arches will be taken and models of your teeth will be made. Our team will send your models along with specific instructions for customizing your dentures to our elite dental lab for fabrication. We use only the finest quality materials to create a natural-looking and comfortable tooth replacement. When your dentures arrive back in our office, you will return to have them delivered and adjusted for a comfortable, secure fit.
It may take a bit of time for you to become accustomed to the feel of your new dentures. However, eventually, you should be able to speak and eat normally. Our team will provide tips on how to best store and care for your dentures at home. If your dentures become loose, please let us know as soon as possible so that Dr. Adi or a member of the Atlas Walk team can make any necessary adjustments. We recommend that you brush your dentures at least twice each day and remove them at night while sleeping. To prevent shrinkage, you should soak your dentures at night or when you are not wearing them.
Even if you have full upper and lower dentures, it is still important to maintain regular dental exams at Atlas Walk Dental & Orthodontics. Our team will check the fit of your dentures, perform oral cancer screenings, and clean your dentures with a special solution to help remove stains and buildup from your appliances. Dr. Adi and the Atlas Walk staff will let you know if your dentures need to be relined or replaced over time.
A portion of your denture cost may be covered by dental insurance. Before beginning your procedure, our business staff will contact your insurance provider and determine your out-of-post expense. Dr. Adi will personalize your denture treatment plan so that your tooth replacement fits both your budget and oral health needs. To help make treatment more affordable, Atlas Walk Dental & Orthodontics accepts several flexible payment methods, including low-interest patient financing.
